Engineering a high-standard complex for quality control (QC), animal research (Vivarium), cell culture, and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) development.
AIPURE served as the general contractor for the 1,691 sqm R&D facility for Shanghai Sofang Pharmaceutical. This project represents a highly integrated laboratory environment, combining diverse research functions that demand absolute environmental stability to support precise drug development and safety evaluation.
Engineering Challenges & Solutions
Complex Functional Partitioning: Integrating a high-ventilation Vivarium with sensitive cell and R&D labs on a single floor required distinct cleanliness levels and pressure gradients. We implemented a scientific zonal management strategy with dedicated airlocks to prevent cross-contamination.
Extreme Environmental Precision: Research processes are hypersensitive to thermal and humidity fluctuations. We deployed an automated HVAC regulation system that achieves sub-degree precision, ensuring 24/7 stability for all critical R&D zones.
Multi-Disciplinary Synergy: The 1,691 sqm site required the seamless integration of decoration, specialized HVAC, fire safety, and electrical systems. We utilized an “Integrated EPC Delivery” model to coordinate these disciplines simultaneously, ensuring a zero-conflict construction timeline.
Regulatory Compliance Readiness: To meet stringent national pharmaceutical R&D standards, we executed a rigorous selection of anti-bacterial materials and coved architectural transitions to eliminate dust accumulation in sterile zones.
